I built my first website in Frontpage for a non profit club to which I belonged. My son convinced me that another website software program would allow me more input and control; so I bought Dreamweaver 8 and was introduced to Flash. The more I played around the more questions I had so I spent hours searching online and reading forums. I found a great resource in "Technicallead.com" and purchased a ton of CD's from them.
About the time people started asking about adding their own content to their website my old buddies Technicallead sent out an email about Joomla, a user friendly CMS software - or Content Management Sysytem software which is open source. I am promoting CMS right now especially for small businesses so they don't have the ongoing expense when they want to change or update their website. Joomla has a wide variety of built in components and the ones that aren't built in are either free or available for a nominal sum.
I make it a point to keep up with the latest technology and create a clean site that a small business can afford but still a site that reflects the image they want to project. |
